G. Kirk Raab
Chairman
Mr. Raab has over 45 years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology experience. He started as a salesman with Pfizer in Brooklyn, New York and then was appointed to marketing management roles including Brazil, Argentina and Chile. He started Beecham's pharmaceutical business in Latin America from his home in Mexico City and then served as Vice President, Latin America for Abbott Laboratories. Having relocated to Chicago, Mr. Raab was Executive Vice President, President and COO and a Director of Abbott. During that period, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Amgen until he joined Genentech as President, COO and a Director in 1985. He was elected CEO in 1990. Mr. Raab was the Founding Chairman of the California Health Care Institute and the Biotechnology Industry Organization. Since leaving Genentech in 1995, he has been involved in over 15 biotech companies, many as Chairman. He is presently Chairman of four companies. Mr. Raab graduated with honors from Colgate University and is a Trustee Emeritus. He also served as a member of the Chancellor's Court of Oxford University.

Chris Ehrlich
Director
Mr. Ehrlich focuses on investing in and building new businesses around entrepreneurs with novel therapeutic approaches. He currently serves on the boards of BioMimetic Therapeutics (NASD: BMTI), Carbylan BioSurgery, Follica, KAI Pharmaceuticals, QuatRx Pharmaceuticals, Satori Pharmaceuticals, Solace Pharmaceuticals, Transcept Pharmaceutical, and Xenon Pharmaceuticals.
Prior to joining InterWest in 2000, Ehrlich was Director, Licensing & Business Development at Purdue Pharma, a private pharmaceutical firm based in Stamford, CT. In this position, he was responsible for developing a biologic oncology franchise, including in-licensing key intellectual properties, establishing and managing collaborations with biotechnology companies and participating in the commercial operations of Purdue BioPharma, a biotechnology company located in Princeton, NJ. Prior to joining Purdue, Ehrlich worked in business development at Genentech, Inc., in venture capital at The U.S. Russia Investment Fund, and in biotechnology strategy development at LEK Consulting.
Mr. Ehrlich earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College, cum laude, and an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University where he served as an instructor and advisor to the Biotech program.

Thomas D. Kiley
Director
Mr. Kiley has been self-employed since 1988 as an attorney, consultant, and investor. From 1980 to 1988, he was an officer of Genentech, Inc., serving variously as Vice President and General Counsel, Vice President for Legal Affairs, and Vice President for Corporate Development. From 1969 to 1980, he was with the law firm of Lyon & Lyon, where he was a partner from 1975 to 1980. Mr. Kiley is also a director of Geron Corporation and five private companies -- Attune Foods, Inc., Ceres, Inc., Open Monoclonal Technology, Inc., Osteogenix, Inc., and Theracaine, Inc..

Kathy LaPorte
Director
Ms. LaPorte is a Managing Director of New Leaf Venture Partners and concentrates on their pharmaceutical companies. Before she helped create New Leaf Venture Partners, she joined the Sprout Group in 1993 and became a General Partner in 1994. Between 1987 and 1993, she was a Principal at Asset Management Company, a venture capital firm focused on early stage investments. Previously, she was a financial analyst with The First Boston Corporation. Ms. LaPorte's focus is on biopharmaceutical and diagnostic investments. She is the Past President, and a former member of the Board of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. Ms. LaPorte received an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business (Arjay Miller Scholar), and a BS, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University. Ms. LaPorte currently serves on the boards of Aesthetic Sciences, Affymax (AFFY), ISTA Pharmaceuticals (ISTA), Pearl Therapeutics and Prometheus Laboratories.

Jake Nunn
Director
Mr. Nunn has been a Partner at NEA since 2006. He focuses on later-stage specialty pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical device investments. Mr. Nunn is a director of TriVascular2 and Aciex, and led NEA's investment in Transcept. Prior to joining NEA, Jake worked at MPM Capital as a Partner with the MPM BioEquities Fund, where he specialized in public, PIPE and mezzanine-stage life sciences investing. Previously, he was a healthcare research analyst and portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton Investments. Mr. Nunn was also an investment banker with Alex Brown & Sons. He received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an AB in Economics from Dartmouth College. Mr. Nunn holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Society of San Francisco.

Glenn Oclassen
President, Chief Executive Officer, Director
In 1985, Mr. Oclassen founded Oclassen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a dermatologic drug development and marketing company. He served as a director from the company's inception, was President and CEO from 1985 until 1991, and became Chairman of the Board of Directors in January 1991. He served in this role until Watson Pharmaceuticals acquired the company in February 1997. He was also a founder and Chairman of the Board of NextDerm Inc., a venture that was acquired in 1999 by Procyte Corp.
From 1984 to 1985 Mr. Oclassen served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Pharmaquest Corporation, a pharmaceutical development consulting company. From 1982 to 1984, he was a partner in the Peachtree Creek Consulting Group, a firm providing marketing consulting services to health care and consumer products companies. In 1977, Mr. Oclassen founded the Neutrogena Dermatologics division of Neutrogena Corp. and served as President until 1982. He was employed by Allergan Pharmaceuticals from 1971 until 1977 where he was concurrently Director of Marketing for OTC ophthalmic products, and General Manager of the Dermatology Division.
Mr. Oclassen previously held marketing and sales positions with Westwood Pharmaceuticals, which was founded by his father Charles A. Oclassen, and with Wm. H. Rorer Pharmaceuticals. He received a B.S. in zoology from San Diego State University in 1965. Mr. Oclassen is a member of the Cutaneous Therapy Society and the North American Clinical Dermatology Society. He was previously elected as the first non-physician member of the Executive Committee of the Dermatology Foundation.

Frederick J. Ruegsegger
Director
Mr. Ruegsegger has served as Chief Financial Officer of Sterigenics International, Inc. since June 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Ruegsegger served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief of Staff of Sterigenics’ former parent company, Ion Beam Applications from May 2002 to June 2004. From October 2000 to May 2002, Mr. Ruegsegger provided financial and general management services, generally as a consultant, to a variety of companies including CentPharm, LLC, Phaethon Communications and others. Prior to that, Mr. Ruegsegger was Chief Financial Officer of Neoforma, Inc. from August 1999 to October 2000. Mr. Ruegsegger also served as Senior Vice President Finance and Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer at Axys Pharmaceuticals from December 1996 to July 1999 and was President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director at EyeSys Technologies, an ophthalmology instrumentation company from July 1993 to December 1996. Prior to joining EyeSys, Mr. Ruegsegger held senior positions at Vitaphore Corporation, a biomaterials company, including President and Chief Executive Officer of the company from January 1991 to June 1993.
Mr. Ruegsegger received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Illinois and holds a Masters of Management degree from Northwestern University.

Camille Samuels
Director
Ms. Samuels is a Managing Director of Versant Ventures and specializes in early-stage biotechnology investing. Prior to joining Versant in early 2000, she was responsible for business development at Tularik, Inc. (subsequently acquired by Amgen) where she in-licensed two of the company's clinical-stage products and led Tularik’s Technology Acquisition Group. Before Tularik, Ms. Samuels worked in corporate development at Genzyme and Millennium Predictive Medicine, and was a management consultant to healthcare and biotech companies at LEK Consulting.
In addition to Transcept, Ms. Samuels currently serves as a board member of Achaogen, APT Pharmaceuticals, Muse Therapeutics, and Kythera Biopharmaceuticals. She was previously a board member at NovaCardia (acquired by Merck) and ParAllele (acquired by Affymetrix). In addition, she served as a board observer at several companies, including Alexza (public), Fluidigm, Genomic Health (public) and Syrrx (acquired by Takeda).
Ms. Samuels earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Duke University and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she graduated as a Baker Scholar. In 2002, The Aspen Institute named Ms. Samuels a Henry Crown Fellow.

Daniel K. Turner III
Director
Mr. Turner has 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, operating manager and venture capitalist. He founded Montreux and has been a General Partner/Managing Member since 1993. Immediately prior to founding Montreux, Mr. Turner was a Principal in the Turnaround Group for Berkeley International. Previously, he was the founding Chief Financial Officer of Oclassen Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused in dermatology, which merged with Watson Pharmaceuticals (NYSE: WPI) in 1997.
Mr. Turner started his career with Price Waterhouse in the high technology group. He holds a B.S. from California State University, Sacramento (magna cum laude) and attended the M.B.A. program at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has established the Turner Fellowship. Mr. Turner is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Turner is a member of the board of directors of OREXIGEN (NASDAQ: OREX), Renal CarePartners, Sequel Pharmaceuticals, Transcept Pharmaceuticals and Tobira Therapeutics. Mr. Turner previously served as Montreux’s representative to the board of directors of Cerexa (sold to Forest Laboratories, 2007), NovaCardia (sold to Merck, 2007), Peninsula Pharmaceuticals (sold to Johnson & Johnson, 2005). In addition to his activities at Montreux, Mr. Turner is a member of the Board of Trustees at Woodside Priory School.

John P. Walker
Director
Mr. Walker served as Chairman of Novacea, Inc. since April 2006 and its Chief Executive Officer since September 2007. He has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Evotec since August 2008 and was previously Chairman of Renovis, which merged with Evotec in 2008. Since 2001, Mr. Walker, acting as a consultant and investor, has served as Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer of KAI Pharmaceuticals, Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer at Guava Technologies, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bayhill Therapeutics and Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer of Centaur, Inc.. From 1993 to 2001, he was Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Axys Pharmaceuticals Inc. and its predecessor company, Arris Pharmaceutical Corporation. Prior to his association with Arris, Mr. Walker was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vitaphore Corporation, a biomaterials company which was sold to Union Carbide Chemical and Plastics Company Inc. in 1990. From 1971 to 1985, Mr. Walker was employed by American Hospital Supply Corporation in a variety of general management, sales and marketing positions, most recently serving as President of the American Hospital Company.
Mr. Walker is a Director of Geron Corporation, Affymax Inc. and certain other privately held biotechnology companies.
He holds a BA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and is a graduate of the Advanced Executive Program, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
